Grilled Onion

Here are some easy and delicious onion recipes.
Grilled Onion Recipe
Ingredients:
2 large onions (yellow or sweet onions are best)
2 tablespoons olive oil
Salt and pepper to taste
Optional: add flavor with balsamic vinegar or herbs (such as thyme or rosemary).
Directions:
Prepare the onions.
Peel and cut the onions into thick rings or wedges about 1/2 inch thick. Sweet onions are also great for grilling.
Preheat the grill:
Preheat the grill to medium heat.
Season the onions:
Put the onion slices in a bowl and saute with the olive oil, salt and pepper. If using balsamic vinegar or herbs, add them now for added flavor. Grilled Onions:
Place onions in grill basket or directly on grill grates. If using basket, oil generously to prevent items from sticking.
Grill for approximately 10-15 minutes, turning occasionally, until onions are tender and nicely grilled.
Serve:
Remove from grill and allow to cool slightly. Serve warm as a side dish or use as a topping on burgers, sandwiches or salads. Enjoy grilled onions! They add great flavor to any meal.
